Ashley Dexter (SAU): MCC Player of the Year
The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its women's soccer all-conference honors for the 2010 season. Thirty-two athletes were recognized as part of the all-conference teams as voted by the coaches, including 14 to the First Team and 18 to the Honorable Mention Team.

St. Ambrose sophomore forward Ashley Dexter (Eldridge, Iowa) was named the MCC Player of the Year. Dexter led the conference in points (52) and assists (16) and finished second in the league in goals scored (18). She led the Queen Bees to a share of the regular season championship and a runner-up finish in the MCC Tournament as SAU just missed out on a trip to the NAIA National Women's Soccer Tournament.

"With the ever-increasing level of play in this conference and the abundance of talented players, I am very proud of Ashley's achievement of being voted conference Player of the Year," said St. Ambrose Head Coach Jon Mannall. "Ashley's statistics are phenomenal this year but her impact on the team goes beyond statistics. She is a fierce competitor and a humble teammate and is thoroughly deserving of this award."

Viterbo freshman forward Steph Wisen (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) was named the MCC Newcomer of the Year. Wisen joined Dexter as the two most dominant scorers in the MCC this year, and the freshman led the conference in goals scored with 20 while finishing second in the league just behind Dexter with 48 points. Wisen also ranked 11th nationally in the NAIA in both goals and points scored this year.

"I am happy for our team for Steph's accomplishment," said Viterbo Head Coach Scott Pirnstill. "The team did a great job creating opportunities and Steph always took care of the rest. She was unquestionably the best and most consistent finisher in the league this year."

Ashford Head Coach Mick Regan was selected by his peers as the MCC Coach of the Year. Regan led the Saints to a share of the MCC regular season title as well as the conference tournament title and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. He receives MCC Women's Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his career after previously twice being named MCC Men's Coach of the Year.

"We are so proud of Coach Regan's accomplishments this year," said Ashford Athletic Director Meg Schebler. "To be recognized by your peers as Coach of the Year is very rewarding, and he is very worthy of this honor. Five years ago, Mick had a vision to build a championship program, and he has worked diligently to achieve that goal. By finishing atop the MCC during the regular season and conference tournament, he has proven he is one of the best in the business. We are thrilled he represents Ashford University so well."
