            <title>[Women's Soccer] Machometa and Wisen Pick Up National Awards</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;La Crosse, Wis. &amp;ndash; Freshman &lt;strong&gt;Molly Machometa&lt;/strong&gt; (&lt;em&gt;McHenry, Ill.&lt;/em&gt;) and junior &lt;strong&gt;Steph Wisen&lt;/strong&gt; (&lt;em&gt;Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.&lt;/em&gt;) teamed up this season for the Viterbo University women's soccer team to be one of the top 1-2 punches in the country. So it comes as no surprise that on Monday the two of them picked up national honors. Machometa and Wisen were named &lt;strong&gt;NAIA Honorable Mention All-America &lt;/strong&gt;selections while Wisen was also&amp;nbsp; named a &lt;strong&gt;2012 Capital One Academic All-America&amp;reg; College Division Third Team &lt;/strong&gt;recipient&lt;strong&gt;.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

It got even better today as Viterbo defeated Grand View University 3-1 in the MCC Tournament Championship game. The win gives Viterbo the automatic bid to the 2012 NAIA Women&amp;#39;s Soccer National Tournament.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Although it took an extra 20 minutes, the V-Hawks earned a 1-1 tie with St. Ambrose to help them clinch the #1 seed in the MCC tournament.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Women's Soccer] Grand View's Zenz NAIA Women's Soccer National Player of Week</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;For the first time this year, a Grand View athlete has received recognition on the national level. On Tuesday, Viking senior goalkeeper Katie Zenz (Des Moines, Iowa) was honored as the NAIA Women&amp;#39;s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week announced by the national office.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Last week, Zenz&amp;nbsp;posted back-to-back shutouts for the fourth time in her career with clean sheets against NCAA Division III Central (Iowa) on Sept. 25 and St. Ambrose (Iowa) on Sept. 29.&amp;nbsp;The reigning MCC Women&amp;#39;s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, combined to make 13 saves for the week, including a second half penalty kick stop to maintain the Vikings 1-0 win against St. Ambrose. Zenz has not allowed a goal in her last 319:58 in net.&lt;/p&gt;&amp;nbsp;</description>

Three teams are selected and composed of 13 players, which were selected by the All-America committee.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Grand View junior forward Jordyn Thompson (Newton, Iowa) was selected to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention Team. &amp;nbsp;The MCC Player of the Year and First Team selection was among leaders in seven national statistical categories - game winning goals (4th-7), game winning goals per game (5th-.35), goals per game (7th-1.2), total goals (7th-24), points per game (9th-2.7), total points (54-10th), and hots per game (29th-4.6).&lt;/P&gt;</description>

            <title>[Women's Soccer] St. Ambrose wins MCC Women's Soccer Tournament</title>

            <description>After being so close the last two years, the St. Ambrose women's soccer team is returning to the NAIA National Championship this year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Queen Bees defeated Grand View 2-1 in Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday to win the Midwest Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Tournament and gained the league's automatic bid to the 2011 NAIA National Championship.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;St. Ambrose (13-6 overall) will play an Opening Round match Saturday, Nov. 19. The pairings will be announced Sunday, Nov. 13.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Queen Bees also got a measure of revenge by defeating a Grand View team that handed SAU its only regular-season conference loss. The Vikings defeated the Bees 2-0 back on Sept. 28 by scoring both goals in the game's final five minutes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>

            <description>&lt;div&gt;The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its women's soccer all-conference honors for the 2011 season. Thirty athletes were recognized as part of the all-conference teams as voted by the coaches, including 14 to the First Team and 16 to the Honorable Mention Team.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Grand View junior forward Jordyn Thompson (Newton, Iowa) was named the MCC Player of the Year. Thompson led the conference in goals (23) and points (52) and also was fourth in the league in assists (six). She scored seven game-winning goals to lead the MCC and rank fourth nationally in that category, and she also ranks among the NAIA national leaders in goals (eighth nationally), points (ninth) and points per game (tenth). Thompson helped the Vikings to a share of the MCC regular season title and into the conference tournament championship game against St. Ambrose.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
