Oskaloosa--The Mount Mercy Mustangs are predicted to three-peat as league champions as the 2012 Midwest Collegiate Conference men's cross country coaches' poll was released today.

The Midwest Collegiate Conference men's cross country all-conference honors for the 2011 season were announced on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the conclusion of the MCC Championships held at the Dubuque Soccer Complex.

Seven runners received First Team All-MCC honors on the basis of finishing in the top seven spots individually in the championship. A total of ten more runners received honorable mention all-conference recognition. Kevin Randle was named the conference Harrier of the Year for the second straight year after winning his second consecutive individual title at the conference championships. Ryan Scheckel of Mount Mercy was named MCC Coach of the Year, winning the men's award for the second straight year and third time in his coaching career.

Mount Mercy made it back-to-back titles for it's men's cross country team, winning the 2011 Midwest Collegiate Conference men's championship at the conference meet at the Dubuque Soccer Complex.

The Mustangs finished with 29 points, easily outdistancing second place St. Ambrose. Ashford was third (75 points), followed by Grand View (96), Viterbo (119), William Penn (145) and Clarke (178).

La Crosse, Wis. – Nearly 200 runners from 13 different schools across Wisconsin will take to the Viterbo University Cross Country Course at Pettibone Park on Saturday, October 15th to take part in the 18^thannual Wisconsin private Colleges Championship. The meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. central time with the women's 6-K race, while the men's 8-K race will follow at 11:15 a.m.

At the third annual La Crosse Area Sports Commission Banquet, the V-Hawk harriers were awarded the 2010 La Crosse Sports Commission College Team of the Year.

Des Moines, Iowa - St. Ambrose University claimed its third straight league crown at the 2008 Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Ewing Park.

Viterbo's B.J. McCall earned Men's Harrier of the Year honors for his first conference championship with a time of 27:29 in the 8k. Also landing on the All-Conference team were John Darmody of St. Ambrose (2^nd/27:41), Mike Miroux of Mount Mercy (3^rd/27:52), Brandon Bond of Grand View (4^th/28:09), Blake Wallace of William Penn (5^th/28:20), Jon Aldrich of Grand View (6^th/28:26), and Jordan Letzring of William Penn (7^th/28:43).

The Midwest Collegiate Conference will be represented by four individuals at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships on November 17^th in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Mount Mercy College will be sending senior Katie Larsen and sophomore Mallory Marshall to compete in the women�s 5k race in Kenosha. Larsen and Marshall finished in 8^th and 10^th place respectively at the Region VII Championships on November 3^rd. This will be both Larsen�s and Marshall�s second consecutive trip to the National Championships.
