Swanson Signs With Waldorf

West Hancock standout, Sarah Swanson, has signed Letters-of-Intent to continue her athletic career at Waldorf College.  Swanson will play both basketball and softball for the Warriors.

Waldorf basketball coach, Denny Jerome, has liked Swanson’s skills for some time.  “Sarah participated in our basketball camps through the years, and she was someone we identified early on as one to follow.  With Sarah we are getting an outstanding student and a versatile athlete.”

Warrior softball coach, Denny Gilbertson, says Swanson’s signing takes a little pressure off his recruiting efforts.  “We were looking to add another athletic infielder to our mix.  Sarah is solid defensively and is also a threat at the plate.”

Sarah is looking forward to the opportunities.  “I am just really excited about the challenges of playing at the next level.  I was looking for a place where I could play both sports, and Waldorf ended up being a great fit for me.”

The Waldorf basketball and softball programs have combined for three Midwest Classic Conference titles in the last two years.  The Warrior basketball team shared the regular-season title in 2005, while the softball team won back-to-back titles in 2004 and 2005.
