SUBJECT: Baseball all-conference honors announced

Des Moines, Iowa – The Midwest Classic Conference announces its 2006 baseball all-conference honors. Eighteen athletes were recognized as part of the all-conference teams as voted by the coaches.

William Penn senior outfielder Ryan Jimenez (San Bernardino, Calif.) was voted as the MCC Player of the Year. Jimenez transferred to William Penn from San Bernardino Junior College. Jimenez led the Statesmen with a .433 batting average , 68 hits, 10 doubles, 3 triples, 51 runs, a .650 slugging percentage, .548 on-base percentage, 102 total bases, 8-of-10 stolen bases, 30 walks, and added 6 home runs and 36 RBI.

 

William Penn head coach Mike Laird was selected as the MCC Coach of the Year. In 24th year at William Penn, Laird led his team to an 18-7 MCC record for first place.
