MEN’S SOCCER SIGNS EXPERIENCED RECRUITING CLASS

Coach Mick Regan has signed eight men’s soccer players to join the Ashford University Saints’ program for fall 2006.

Highlighting the incoming class are two local players, Cody Gee and Aaron Sass, both of whom participated at Clinton High School. “Both of these gentlemen will help our team, and it is fantastic to have some local talent on the squad,” said Coach Regan.

Other new recruits include Clay Benore, whose brother Dustin played for the Saints the past three seasons. Benore is from Davenport, Iowa and played last season at Scott Community College. Eddie Garza joins the Saints after a stellar career at Rockford Guilford HS. “Clay is a very smart player who will give us some options up front, while Eddie is a left sided player with lots of technical ability.  He will give us more balance on the left side of the pitch.” Regan said.

Additional players include Keegan Maxwell, from Monroe Center, Illinois and Robert Reese from Geneseo. Mike Rosselli will also join the Saints squad. He is a native of Bartelso, Illinois. Coach Regan spoke highly of these three. “Keegan, Mike and Robert are hard working individuals who are a nice fit for our program.”

Rounding out the recruiting class is Kyle Mantick, a freshman from Peoria, Illinois. Mantick will also participate in baseball. “Kyle is a solid athlete who will be a solid contributor to baseball and soccer,” stated Coach Regan.
