Men's Conference Chair = Jeff Griebel, Saint Ambrose University ADC Representative = Greg Hafner, William Penn University 10/10/07 6.1 SCHEDULING 6.1.1 With the exception of the MCC Championship, each institution is responsible for scheduling its own matches. 6.2 FORMAT 6.2.1 The host school for all regular season matches will determine the format of the event 6.3 WEATHER 6.3.1 Events may be shortened, rescheduled or canceled due to weather related issues. 6.4 CONFERENCE STATISTICS AND PLAYER OF THE WEEK 6.4.1 Each coach will email results for the previous weeks contest, including team and individual results, my 12:00 pm (noon) every Monday during the season. 6.4.2 Each coach will include a nomination for Golfer of the Week, which will be selected by the Commissioner and MCC SID 6.5 AWARDS 6.5.1 Men's Conference All-Tournament Team = Top 5 individuals (36 hole totals) 6.5.2 Men's Conference Tournament Medallist = Individual 36 hole champion 6.5.3 ALL CONFERENCE (see section 2.2 - All Conference Guidelines)
6.6 MCC Championship 6.6.1 All conference schools with Golf program have a mandatory requirement to participate. 6.6.2 Location Year: Host School: 2005 Ashford (fall) 2007 Mount Mercy 2008 Waldorf 2009 William Penn 2010 Grand View 2011 Iowa Wesleyan 2012 St. Ambrose 2013 Ashford 6.6.3 Date The Conference Tournament will be held during the last week in April or first week in May each year and will determine the conference team champions, the MCC Championship Medallist and the All-Tournament Team. 6.6.3.1 Format 6.6.3.1.1 Low team score after two 18 hole rounds determines team champion (36 hole total). 6.6.3.1.2 Count low 4 of 5 scores each day for team score. 6.6.3.1.3 The United States Golf Association (USGA) dictates rules of competition. 6.6.3.1.4 The local tournament committee may make amendments as necessary. 6.6.3.1.4.1 The local tournament committee will consist of the Golf Coach of the host school, the Golf Coach of the previous year’s host school and the Head Pro of the host site or AD of host school. 6.6.3.2 Reporting 6.6.3.2.1 Responsibility of the host school for that specific year. 6/20/07 a. Golf proposal #1 – To change the conference tournament to a multi-day event dual site 72 hole tournament. The first 36 holes of the event would be played over two days in the fall at a proposed site to be determined by the coaches each year. The final 36 holes of the conference tournament would be played in the spring following the current format. Fall score would be added to the spring to determine results. ACTIONS: Approved 9-0 for 2008-09 season. b. Golf Proposal #2 – To change the women’s conference tournament to the spring. ACTION: Tabled back to women’s golf coaches to study what the men are doing (72 hole, 2-day tourney). c. Golf Proposal #3 – Host rotation for MCC men’s and women’s championships: 2007/08 Waldorf 2008/09 William Penn 2009/10 Grand View 2010/11 Iowa Wesleyan 2011/12 St. Ambrose 2012/13 Ashford 2013/14 Viterbo 2014/15 Clarke 2015/16 Mount Mercy ACTION: Tabled. d. Golf Proposal 4a - All-Tournament Team selection: top 5 scorers during conference tourney play are All-Tournament Team and will receive a plaque. ACTION: Approved 9-0. e. Golf Proposal 4a - Top scorer during conference tourney play is Tournament Medalist and will receive a plaque. ACTION: Approved 9-0. f. Golf Proposal 4a - Coaches vote at end of fall, top 5 first team, next 5 second team, school not represented gets to add one to 2nd team. AMENDMENT: There will be an all-conference and an honorable mention team. Each school will be represented. ACTION: Tabled. |
