STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mount Mercy sophomores Rosie Jones, Becca Smith, and Liz Hill were named all-Midwest Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the NFCA has announced.

Jones was the first-team all-Midwest Region second baseman after leading the Mustangs with a .376 batting average this spring. She had four home runs, nine doubles, and 27 RBIs in 48 games. Jones also had 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts and finished with an .893 fielding percentage.

Smith and Hill, both first-team all-Midwest Collegiate Conference selections, landed on the NFCA all-Midwest Region second team. Smith went 27-5 with two saves and a 1.34 earned run average in 34 appearances for Mount Mercy. In 208 2/3 innings, she struck out a school-record 298 batters with only 22 walks. Smith also hit .343 with seven homers.

Hill batted .305 in 47 games for the Mustangs and set the single-season home run record with 11. She also collected a pair of doubles and drove in a team-best 47 runs. Hill committed just three errors in 198 chances for a fielding percentage of .985 at first base.
