The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its weekly honors. Receiving honors were: Meghan Tomlinson (Softball Player - Grand View), Ayla Serrano (Softball Pitcher - Iowa Wesleyan), Edder Morales (Baseball Player - Iowa Wesleyan), Jansel Encarnacion (Baseball Pitcher - Iowa Wesleyan), Tony Morrison (Men's Track - St. Ambrose), Tyler Wells (Men's Field - Grand View), Obsie Birru (Women's Track - Grand View), Ashley Rojemann (Women's Field - St. Ambrose) and Kenzie Hein (Women's Golf - St. Ambrose).
Meghan Tomlinson - Grand View (Jr., Fort Worth, Texas)
Tomlinson batted .571 in eight games last week as the Vikings went 5-3 in conference play. She had 16 hits, nine runs scored, eight RBIs and was 8-for-8 in stolen bases.
Ayla Serrano - Iowa Wesleyan (Fr., Rock Island, Ill.)
Serrano was 3-0 last week with a 2.37 earned run average and 20 strikeouts. She threw a pair of three-hit complete games last week, including a three-hit shutout against Clarke.
Edder Morales - Iowa Wesleyan (Sr., Barquisimeto, Venezuela)
Morales hit .500 over seven games as the Tigers went 5-2 last week. He had 12 hits, six runs scored, two home runs and eight RBIs and posted a .792 slugging percentage in extending his hit streak to 10 games.
Jansel Encarnacion - Iowa Wesleyan (Jr., Azua, Dominican Republic)
Encarnacion threw 14 1/3 scoreless innings last week in a pair of wins. He tossed a complete game shutout and struck out 11 against Mount Mercy on Sunday, and also combined on a shutout against St. Ambrose earlier in the week while striking out six.
Tony Morrison - St. Ambrose (Fr., Chicago, Ill.)
Morrison was third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Augustana Viking Olympics and qualified for the NAIA national outdoor championships with a time of 15.08. He also was on a team that took second in the 4 x 110 shuttle hurdle relay and set a new school record.
Tyler Wells - Grand View (Soph., Des Moines, Iowa)
Wells won the shot put and hammer throw and was second in the discus at the Grand View Viking Relays this past weekend. His shot put mark of 15.33 meters met the NAIA ‘B' standard for qualification to the national outdoor championships.
Obsie Birru - Grand View (Soph., Des Moines, Iowa)
Birru won the 1,500 and 5,000 meter events and was a member of the Vikings' winning distance medley relay team at the GVU Viking Relays. Her 5,000 meter time of 18.07.30 met the NAIA ‘B' qualifying standard.
Ashley Rojemann - St. Ambrose (Fr., Menominee, Ill.)
Rojemann set a new school record and met the NAIA ‘A' qualifying standard with her throw of 148-9 in the discus at the Augustana Viking Olympics. Her throw ranks in the top 5 nationally in the NAIA so far this year.
Kenzie Hein - St. Ambrose (Sr., Iowa City, Iowa)
Hein led the Queen Bees with a 24th place individual finish at the Truman State Bulldog Classic in Missouri, helping SAU to a fifth-place team finish.
