(Stanton, Stanton HS) concluded her junior campaign with another accolade as the 2009-2010 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball All-America teams were announced yesterday.
Subbert was placed on the Honorable Mention squad for the second time in her career, having also earned the award in 2008-2009. She becomes the third player in program history to receive two All-America awards, joining Rae White (1981 and 1982) and Becky Inman (1986 and 1987).
Subbert, already a first-team all-Midwest Collegiate Conference selection, guided Penn to a 17-14 campaign (9-7 MCC) this winter, its first winning season since 1994 and its most wins since 1990.
The senior was fourth in the conference with 16.8 points per game, while also ranking in the MCC's top ten in three-point percentage (.394, 1st), three-pointers made per game (2.03, 5th), free-throw percentage (.857, 2nd), and rebounds per game (5.9, 10th).
For the year, Subbert led Penn in many categories, including points (521), rebounds (182), and all three-point areas (63-160, .394). She also had 41 assists, 17 blocks, and 33 steals.
Earlier this year, Subbert became the 18th player in school history to reach 1,000 points. She will enter her senior campaign eighth on the career list with 1,471 points.
Jessi Beachey of Iowa Wesleyan headlined the list of MCC honorees by being named to the ten-person First Team, while Grand View's Jennifer Jorgensen and St. Ambrose's Ali Dolphin were both selected to the Third Team. Liz Grider of Briar Cliff was named NAIA Player of the Year.
