The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its weekly honors. Receiving honors were: Grant Burns (Men's Basketball - Grand View), Jennifer Jorgensen (Women's Basketball - Grand View), Isaac Mase (Men's Indoor Track - Clarke), Jordan Adams (Men's Indoor Field - Grand View), Beth Ripperger (Women's Indoor Track - Mount Mercy) and Mandy Streu (W Indoor Field - St. Ambrose).
Men's Basketball
Grant Burns - Grand View (Sr., Guard, Monroe, Iowa)
Burns averaged 13 points, four rebounds, 11 assists and three steals per game last week over three games. He also shot 52% from the field and 76.9% from the foul line.
Women's Basketball
Jennifer Jorgensen - Grand View (Fr., Guard, Dayton, Iowa)
Jorgensen averaged 21 points, eight rebounds and 4.3 assists per game as the Vikings went 3-0 last week. She also shot 48.7% from the field and 75.9% from the free throw line.
Men's Indoor Track
Isaac Mase - Clarke (Soph. from Kapsabet, Kenya)
Mase won a pair of events at the University of Dubuque Invitational on Saturday, taking first in the 800 meters (2:00.84) and the mile (4:31.85).
Men's Indoor Field
Jordan Adams - Grand View (Sr. from Lamont, Iowa)
Adams won the weight throw event at the Wartburg Triangular, meeting the NAIA ‘A' qualifying standard with a throw of 16.13 meters.
Women's Indoor Track
Beth Ripperger - Mount Mercy (Jr. from Knoxville, Iowa)
Ripperger won the 1,000 meters in 3:06.61 at the Cornell Quadrangular, setting a new school record and reaching the NAIA ‘B' qualifying standard. She also was part of the Mustangs' 4 x 400 relay which set a school record and the top time in the conference at 4:10.53.
Women's Indoor Field
Mandy Streu - St. Ambrose (Soph. from Rolling Meadows, Ill.)
Streu won both the weight throw and shot put at the Cornell Quadrangular. She set a new school record in the weight throw and reached the NAIA ‘B' qualifying standard with a mark of 14.78 meters.
