The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its weekly honors. Receiving honors were: Eric Ambrose (Men's Basketball - Viterbo), Michelle Jamison (Women's Basketball - Clarke), Tony Morrison (Men's Indoor Track - St. Ambrose), Austin Smith (Men's Indoor Field - Ashford), Obsie Birru (Women's Indoor Track - Grand View) and Rachel Luehrs (Women's Indoor Field - St. Ambrose).


Men's Basketball
Eric Ambrose - Viterbo (Sr., Guard, Twin Lakes, Wis.)
Ambrose averaged 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals last week as the V-Hawks won twice to move into a tie for first in the MCC. He had a season-high 27 points and made 15 of 17 free throws in a win Saturday at nationally ranked William Penn.

Women's Basketball
Michelle Jamison - Clarke (Soph., Guard, Martham, Ill.)

Jamison averaged 20 points, 9.5 rebounds, four assists, three steals and 2.5 blocks last week as the Crusaders won twice, including a win over nationally ranked St. Ambrose. She also shot 55.6% from the field and made 9 of 15 three-point tries (60%) over the two games.

Men's Indoor Track
Tony Morrison - St. Ambrose (Fr. from Chicago, Ill.)

Morrison was second in the 55-meter hurdles at the Illinois College Snow Bird Open, lowering his NAIA Indoor National Championships qualifying time to 7.89 seconds.

Men's Indoor Field
Austin Smith - Ashford (Soph. from Port Byron, Ill.)
Smith won the high jump with a mark of 1.96 meters at the Illinois College Snow Bird Open.

Women's Indoor Track
Obsie Birru - Grand View (Soph. from Des Moines, Iowa)
Birru qualified for the NAIA national meet with times of 5:06.42 in the mile and 17:53.62 in the 5,000 meters, winning the 5,000 and finishing seventh in the mile at the Iowa State Open. She also set a school record while finishing eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:21.75.

Women's Indoor Field
Rachel Luehrs - St. Ambrose (Fr. from Chicago, Ill.)
Luehrs was a part of two school records last week for the Queen Bees. She competed on SAU's distance medley relay team on Friday at the Iowa State Open that set a new school mark, then led St. Ambrose to the team title at the Illinois College Snow Bird Open on Saturday. She broke a 13-year school mark in the pentathlon and posted top-five finishes in the 55 hurdles, 800 and long jump.
