The Grand View Vikings women's soccer team scored with less than a minute left in the match and defeated No. 1 seed St. Ambrose 1-0 in the championship game of the MCC Tournament. The Vikings will make their first NAIA National Tournament berth.Senior midfielder Holly Winter (West Des Moines, Iowa) scored the winning goal with 40 seconds left in the game. The Vikings defeated the Queen Bees in the second match between the two schools this year. The two teams tied in double overtime early this season on October 14th.

"I am proud of the girls. They came out and played hard and for each other for the full 90 minutes. It was a very hard fought game. St. Ambrose is a tremendous team that deserved to be a top 25 ranked team much earlier in the year. I want to congratulate Coach Mannall and the St. Ambrose soccer team on a tremendous 2009 season," said Grand View Head Coach Ventsi Stoimirov.

The team will find out Sunday where they will travel for the first round of the national tournament.
