Oskaloosa, Iowa--St. Ambrose University took home the league trophy for the fourth year in a row at the 2009 Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Cross Country Championships Saturday at the Lacey Sports Complex.

St. Ambrose's John Darmody claimed Men's Harrier of the Year honors for his first conference championship with a time of 25:50 in the 8K. Joining Darmody on the seven-person All-Conference team was Kevin Randle of St. Ambrose (2nd, 26:08), Bichok Deng of Grand View (3rd, 26:22), Mike Miroux of Mount Mercy (4th, 26:41), Andrew Drinkall of Ashford (5th, 26:54), Keith Terry of Mount Mercy (6th, 27:01), and Doug Brusich of St. Ambrose (7th, 27:36).

The Fighting Bees took first place with 29 points. Mount Mercy was runner-up with 64 points, while Grand View was third with 89, Viterbo was fourth with 102, Ashford was fifth with 106, William Penn was sixth with 150, and Clarke was seventh with 171.

St. Ambrose will now represent the MCC at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, November 21 in Vancouver, Wash. The squad will be joined by MCC individual qualifiers Deng, Miroux, Drinkall, Terry, and Matt Clarke of Mount Mercy.
