Micah Spencer struck out eight in his semi-pro debut
San Diego, Calif.--Micah Spencer (Sr., Modesto, Calif., Indiana State) extended a tremendous spring into this summer as he has found success in semi-professional baseball.
Just days after being named an NAIA First-Team All-American, Spencer threw a no-hitter for the San Diego Barona Stars, a franchise in the semi-pro Western Baseball Association.
Spencer started the second game of June 6th's season-opening doubleheader against Oceanside and blanked them over nine innings in a 28-0 victory. He finished with eight strikeouts, four walks, and a hit batsman.
The Stars, who are 9-1 overall (5-1 WBA), also scored a franchise record for runs in the win. The previous franchise record for runs was 27 for the 29-year old ballclub.
