Academy Award winning director Ron Howard was in attendance at the recent NAIA Men's Golf National Championships hosted by St. Ambrose University at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

Howard's son, Reed Howard, is a junior at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. Reed was paired with SAU junior Danny Nelson during the first two rounds of the NAIA National Championships.

Reed finished in a tie for 48th place with a four-round total of 308 (77-79-75-77), and helped South Carolina-Beaufort to a seventh-place team finish.

Ron Howard stated he enjoyed the hospitality of everyone in the Quad City area.
