Oskaloosa, Iowa--The St. Ambrose Fighting Bees rallied for a huge final day to claim yet another league title as the fourth and final round of the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championships was held at Oskaloosa Golf Course Sunday.
St. Ambrose shot the best team score of the day at two-under 286 to top the nine-team standings with a score of 1166 (283-297-300-286). Grand View, who entered the day with a three-stroke lead, finished second, ten strokes behind at 1176 (298-290-289-299).
Adam White of St. Ambrose led the tournament from wire-to-wire to take the medalist honor at five-under 283 (68-71-73-71), while Adam Lindsay of Iowa Wesleyan finished second at one-under 287 (73-73-71-70). Dusty Drenth of St. Ambrose, at 288, and Derrick Meier and Mike Hesselman, both of Viterbo, at 290, were also named to the five-person all-MCC Tournament team.
Since the league established its first men's golf championship during the 1992-1993 school year, St. Ambrose has claimed 15 of the 17 titles and has now won the past six trophies.
