La Crosse, Wis. - Members of the Viterbo Men's Basketball team traveled to Franklin Elementary School last Wednesday to read to kindergarteners. Former basketball player, Greg Jefferies (Sr. - Hillsboro, Wis.), is currently helping teach the class in his last semester as an undergraduate. V-Hawk players that participated included: Nick Stilwell (Jr. - Portage, Wis.), JJ Svestka (Fr. - Decorah, Iowa), Chris Milner (Fr. - Mundelein, Ill.), Ed Smudde (Sr. - Butternut, Wis.), and Eric Ambrose (Jr. Twin Lakes, Wis.).

The basketball team read to the little kids for an hour, as each basketball player had two kids. The little kids also did some reading of their own, as the players helped them through the text. The teachers and principal of Franklin were very appreciative of the players' willingnessto interact with the children.
