
The Grand View men's track & field team claimed the first-ever MCC Indoor Track & Field championship today in Sterling, Illinois.
Grand View won six of the eighteen events held and finished with a team score of 225. St. Ambrose finished in second place with a score of 189, Mount Mercy was third (108), William Penn was fourth (69), Ashford fifth (51), and Clarke sixth (28).
St. Ambrose freshman John Darmody (Seattle, Wash.) was deemed the MCC Men's Track Athlete of the Year. Darmody won the 800m Run (1:59.66), the 1000m Run (2:33.70), and the Mile (4:26.92).
Grand View senior Jordan Adams (Lamont, Iowa) was voted as the MCC Men's Field Athlete of the Year. Adams took first place in the Shot Put (14.36m) and the Weight Throw (17.10m).
Grand View head coach Jerry Monner was selected by his peers as the MCC Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
