SAU Men Celebrate MCC Track & Field Championship

Dubuque, Ia. - The St. Ambrose University men's track and field team won the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Track and Field Championship today in convincing fashion. The Bees finished with a team score of 295.5 points, more than doubling the points of the runner-up.

Grand View finished in second place with 147 points, William Penn was third with 105.5, Ashford fourth with 98, Mount Mercy fifth with 92, Clarke sixth with 62, and Iowa Wesleyan seventh with 7 points.


St. Ambrose won eleven events: 200m and 400m Dashes, the 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m Runs, the 4x100m, 4x400m, and 4x800m Relays, the Triple Jump, Shot Put, and the Discus.

Grand View senior Brandon Bond (Gowrie, Ia.) was named the MCC Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Bond won the 10,000m Run, the 3,000m Steeplechase, the High Jump, finished fourth in the 800m, 1,500m, and 5,000m Runs, and seventh in the pole vault.

St. Ambrose head coach Dan Tomlin was named MCC Men's Track and Field Coach of the Year.
