The Midwest Collegiate Conference announces its weekly honors. Receiving honors are: Dan Knewitz (Men's Indoor Track - St. Ambrose), Jordan Adams (Men's Indoor Field - Grand View), Katie Larsen (Women's Indoor Track - Mount Mercy), Emily Brown (Women's Indoor Field - Clarke), Brett Newsome (Baseball Player - St. Ambrose), and Tyanna Helton (Softball Player - William Penn).
Men’s Indoor Track
Dan Knewitz – St. Ambrose (SR) Knewitz placed 15th in the 1000m run with a conference-best time of 2:32.04 at the NAIA Indoor National Championships in Johnson City, TN.
Men’s Indoor Field
Jordan Adams – Grand View (JR) Adams placed 11th in the 35lb.Weight Throw with a conference-best throw of 53’½” at the NAIA Indoor National Championships in Johnson City, TN. Women’s Indoor Track Katie Larsen – Mount Mercy (SR) Larsen placed 17th in the 3000m run with a conference-best time of 10:42.27 at the NAIA Indoor National Championships in Johnson City, TN.
Women’s Indoor Field
Emily Brown – Clarke (JR) Brown placed 2nd in the 20lb. Weight Throw with a conference-best mark of 58’5¾” at the NAIA Indoor National Championships in Johnson City, TN. Baseball Player Tyanna Helton – William Penn (SO, INF)Brett Newsome – St. Ambrose (JR, INF) Newsome batted .581 with 18 hits, 12 runs, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, and 20 RBI in the Bees’ 9 games last week. Newsome hit two game-winning and two game-tying hits and was named the MVP of the Warner Southern Invitational. No. 22 SAU went 7-2 including wins over No. 18 Embry-Riddle and No. 5 Spring Arbor. Softball Player Helton hit .585 with 26 hits, 10 runs, 5 doubles, 3 home runs, and 20 RBI in the Lady Statesmen’s 13 games last week. |
