Forest City, Iowa - After weathering a near two hour rain and lightning delay, St. Ambrose took a 15 stroke lead over Waldorf to lead following the first round of the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships held today at Bear Creek Golf Course.
The Queen Bees turned in a first round score of 337, followed in second by Waldorf (352), third Ashford (374), fourth Grand View (399), fifth Iowa Wesleyan (411), sixth Viterbo (423), and seventh Clarke (444).
St. Ambrose's Kelly Jansen (Jr./Bettendorf, Ia.) and Waldorf's Mallory Lovik (So./Forest City, Ia.) turned in the top score of 82 for round one. Round two of the MCC Championships resumes tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 1) at 9:04 a.m.
