The Midwest Collegiate Conference has announced its most recent weekly honors. Award winners were: Spenser Popinga (Baseball Player - Waldorf), Abraham Carrasco (Baseball Pitcher - Mount Mercy), Emily Whetstone (Softball Player - Ashford), Haleigh Munson (Softball Pitcher - Ashford), Tyler Norby (Men's Outdoor Track - St. Ambrose), Justin Ludwikowski (Men's Outdoor Field - Ashford), Obsie Birru (Women's Outdoor Track - Grand View), Larissa Wilden (Women's Outdoor Field - Mount Mercy), Yousaf Khan (Men's Golf - Grand View) and Brittany Boon (Women's Golf - Ashford).

Baseball Player
Spenser Popinga - Waldorf (Sr., Outfielder from Hartland, Wis.)
Popinga hit .412 last week with seven hits in 17 at bats, including three doubles, a homer and eight RBIs and a .765 slugging percentage.

Baseball Pitcher
Abraham Carrasco - Mount Mercy (Jr., from Downey, Calif.)
Carrasco allowed five hits and one run, striking out three and walking one in a complete game 2-1 win over William Penn.

Softball Player
Emily Whetstone - Ashford (Fr., Designated Hitter from Wapakoneta, Ohio)
Whetstone hit .455 last week with ten hits in 22 at bats, including three doubles, two home runs, six RBIs and five runs scored.

Softball Pitcher
Haleigh Munson - Grand View (Soph., from Monroe, Iowa)
Munson was 2-1 last week and allowed one earned run in 18 innings, giving up six hits while striking out 25 and walking seven. She pitched a pair of complete game shutouts in MCC play, allowing one hit while striking out 11 in a win over Ashford and surrendering two hits while striking out 13 against Viterbo.

Men's Outdoor Track
Tyler Norby - St. Ambrose (Jr., from Dubuque, Iowa)
Norby won the Oshkosh Half-Marathon, finishing best of 516 runners and hitting an NAIA B' standard for qualification to nationals with a time of 1:14:13.

Men's Outdoor Field
Justin Ludwikowski - Ashford (Sr., from Roland, Iowa)
Ludwikowski won the decathlon title at the MCC Multi-Event Championships in Clinton, totaling a school record 6,280 points and hitting the NAIA B' qualifying standard.

Women's Outdoor Track
Obsie Birru - Grand View (Sr., from Des Moines, Iowa)
Birru was third in the 5,000 at the Kansas Relays with an NAIA A' standard time of 17:23.94 and also was part of an A' standard time of 9:27.41 on the Vikings' 4 x 800 relay.

Women's Outdoor Field
Larissa Wilden - Mount Mercy (Jr., from Clinton, Iowa)
Wilden won the MCC title in the heptathlon this weekend at the MCC Multi-Event Championships, scoring 4,160 points for a total that ranks in the top 10 nationally in the NAIA this year.

Men's Golf
Yousaf Khan - Grand View (Sr., from Surrey, England)
Khan won medalist honors at the MCC Championships, shooting five-under par through three rounds and winning a playoff on the second hole. He also led the Vikings to their third straight MCC team title.

Women's Golf
Brittany Boon - Ashford (Sr., from Bloomington, Ill.)
Boon won the individual title at the MCC Championships at Blue Top Ridge G.C. in Riverside with a two-round score of 164, leading the Saints to a second-place team finish.
