The Grand View women's basketball team moved up three spots in this week's edition of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.

GV went 2-0 last week and picked up two conference road wins at William Penn and Viterbo. The Vikings were one of two MCC teams in this week's poll. Mount Mercy moved up one place to No. 8.

The Viking women are among national leaders in 15 statistical categories, notably: free throw percentage (5th-76%), field goal percentage (8th-44.4%), assists per game (14th-16.316), defensive rebounds per game (15th-34.684), total assists (16th-310), assist/turnover ratio (19th-.868), and scoring offense per game (21st-72.684).  Complete list of team rankings.

Individually, senior guard Jenn Jorgensen (Dayton, Iowa) leads the NAIA in points per game (23.947), total scoring (455), steals (68), and defensive rebounds per game (8.526).
 

Grand View hosts two games this week, both in MCC action. The Vikings face  Ashford on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Waldorf on Saturday at 1p.m.

The NAIA Top 25 poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The next poll will be announced on Jan. 23.
